Purchase

A purchase is a card transaction where authorization and capture are completed in a single continuous flow.

During authorization, the issuing bank verifies that the customer’s card is valid and that sufficient funds are available. If approved, the transaction amount is reserved (placed on hold) on the customer’s account.

Capture then follows automatically, and the reserved funds are debited and sent for settlement to your merchant account.

By default, finby processes card payments as purchases, which is ideal for immediate fulfillment. If you choose to use preauthorization instead, authorization and capture are separated: funds are only reserved at first, and you must manually trigger the capture later to complete the transaction.
